5 Foreigner Friendly Bars In Shibuya

These are 5 popular bars in the Shibuya area that tend to attract an international crowd. Most of them are British and Irish pubs and some have live music too.

Feel free to follow favy!

HUB British Pub Shibuya

Hub is a popular bar chain in Japan and it has a major location in Shibuya, conveniently located a short distance walk from the Hachiko exit of Shibuya station. The place is particularly popular with people in their 20s and 30s, and foreigners too who seem to have a 6th sense for finding these kind of pubs. Hub gets super crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. Most people are standing which makes it a good place to socialize. If you go a bit earlier, you can probably have a table to enjoy dinner and drinks.

The drinks are half priced for happy hour so you can enjoy some cocktails from just ¥190 from 5 to 7 PM. Hub beers are from ¥390 to ¥520 (regular price; 1/2 pint).

As for the food, they have all kinds of British dishes, including their very popular fish and chips.

The Dubliner's Irish Pub

It takes a 2-minute walk from the west exit of the station to get to this super warm and laid back Irish pub. What's great here is that they have live Celtic and Irish folk music about once a week with no extra music charge. It's a good place to go to enjoy some Guinness beer in good company and some Irish grub (fish and chips, sausages, mussels steamed in white wine).

Coins Bar 300

Coins bar is a very cheap bar, serving drinks and food all at ¥300! They have live DJ music and the bar has a warm gungy decor. People come here for a casual drink, pregame before a night out, and to just enjoy the Shibuya nightlife inexpensively.

They have traditional cocktails, beer, wine, whiskey, vodka, tequila, etc. Moreover, they have sake as well as original cocktails that use sake to make the drink! The very casual atmosphere makes it pretty easy to walk into even if you're an out-of-towner.

The bar is at a 5-minute walk from Shibuya station or an 8-minute walk from Yoyogi Koen and Harajuku stations.

Goodbeer Faucets

What the Dickens!

This is another great British pub with an international crowd. What attracts people here is the live music performances by local bands happening every night. Enjoy British grub and beers. Their meat pies are apparently really good.

What the Dickens is located near the Ebisu station (the station next to Shibuya on the Yamanote Line), on the fourth floor of a building.

Goodbeer Faucets

This one is for beer lovers. Goodbeer Faucets is a beer bar that has over 40 taps of beer from all over the world, although most of the beer is Japanese or American. They also have small dishes and main dishes that are made to go well with the beer served.

There's also 3 taps of real ale and some fruit beers and other seasonal beers that you can enjoy.
